You have seen this before too many times. There is significant decline in the fishery, and with 3,300,000,000 pounds fished by US boats each year, we know we will have to force the industry to make a major change. They won't do so willingly, so you will have to fight hard. You are the voice the only voice the fish have, so make sure you are heard.
Remember, the roll of environmental groups is very important! In the early 1990's the cod fishery in the North West Atlantic collapsed due to over fishing. Take a look at what the World Wildlife Federation is doing to try to help the fish come back:
You think that NOAA has not gone far enough in its recommendations and propose that the quota be reduced even further. NOAA has suggested reducing the catch to between 600 and 800 thousand pounds. You think even 600,000 is too high a quota. You are concerned that the fishery will "collapse," like the cod fishery in the North Atlantic.
